Additional Orientation and Tech-related Information

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing with some additional information as well as reminders for the week. As part of his presentation on Friday, Professor Turley would like to answer some of your questions about law school. We encourage you to be creative and take advantage of this opportunity to get his sage advice. Please submit your questions here. Access to Google Meet Rooms – When accessing the various Google Meet breakout rooms, we ask that you be logged in to your @law mail account. As a reminder, below are some instructions on how to access this account as well MyLaw: 

How to Login to Your Law School Email Account:

  1. Go to gmail.com
  2. Enter your email: use [NetID]@law.gwu.edu
  3. Enter your password: use the password for your NetID

The IT department has also created  video entitled  “How to Access Law School Email” which might be helpful.

Once you are in this account, by using the 9 dot Google apps menu from the account you have access to your calendar and other law school systems.

How to Get to the MyLaw Portal We have had some questions about how to access the MyLaw portal. Below are instructions: 

  1. Log on to your law school email
  2. Use the 9 dot Google Apps menu
  3. Scroll down until you see “MyLaw”
  4. Launch your MyLaw Portal by clicking “MyLaw” from the Google Apps menu

How to Attend a Class Lecture – Each of your classes for the fall will be held using Zoom. Below are instructions on how to access your courses:

  1. Log on to the MyLaw Portal
  2. In the right column, there is a category Fall 2020 Courses. All the courses that you are registered for should be listed there.
  3. Click the Course name for the course Zoom that you wish to join.
  4. You are now on the portal course site for that course.
  5. In the top right column, you will see a button, “Join Zoom Lecture” 
  6. Shortly before the lectured start time, click this button.

Note: The Zoom session will only be active during class times.
