  • Welcome remarks by Sophia Sim, Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid; Elizabeth Ewert, Associate Dean of Students; Dayna Matthew, Law School Dean;  and Nicole Karem, Student Bar Association President.    

 

6 pm: Co-Curricular Offerings at GW Law    

Faculty Conference Center (Burns 505)

  • Representatives from the Records Office (Elaine Valmonte-Tomek), The Career Center (Fatema Keenan), The Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics (Andrea Willis-Johnson Managing Attorney & Associate Program Director), Field Placement (Dean Keri McCoy) and Pro-Bono and Advocacy (Dean David Johnson) will discuss various opportunities for students to become engaged in the co-curricular offerings.

 

7 pm: Community Expectations and Academic Advising

  • Representatives from Dean of Students Office will speak about academic advising and community expectations.

Wednesday, August 17

 

Noon: Academic Advising Fair for Transfer Students

Faculty Conference Center (Burns 505)

  • Faculty, program directors, and administrators provide one-on-one academic advising and registration guidance. Lunch will be provided.

 

2 pm: Getting Involved at GW Law

  • Members of the SBA, including Transfer Representatives, will hold a panel-style discussion on how to become an active member of the GW Law community.

 

2:45 pm: Transfer Journal Competition Information Session

  • The Dean and Faculty welcome students in a late-afternoon reception.    

 

6 pm: Mock Class

Stuart 101

  • Professor Alan Morrison will lead a "mock class" to help students understand the classroom environment and how to prepare for class. Please be sure to have read Roberson v. Rochester Folding Box Co. prior to this session. Professor Morrison will teach Jay Inn Civil Procedure this fall. 

 

7 pm: SBA Student Panel

  • Members of the SBA will answer questions about life at the law school.
